Visibility breeds possibility – and that’s what some recent events hosted by UNE Tamworth aimed to provide for almost 130 students from 6 high schools in Tamworth, Moree, Inverell and Gunnedah recently.
UNE Tamworth hosted a big two days of events, designed to make connections with the students, bust myths about starting and succeeding at uni, and breaking down any perceived barriers.
Day 1 had the students hearing from a range of UNE staff about scholarships, our Pathways Enabling Course, the TRACKS program, getting to know UNE and the Armidale campus through tours and experience days, and much more.
On Day 2, the students went head-to-head in an OzTag knockout competition, before going home with medals, goodie bags of UNE information and merch, and hopefully new ideas and goals about tertiary study.
“I would like to thank all involved in the two-day event, and also UNE for giving me the resources to put together this fun, educational, and exciting two days,” organiser Jake Morris said.
“My vision was to get UNE at the forefront of the minds of the students involved and for them to see the awesome educational opportunities UNE can offer.”
