NEW WEBSITE

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Legal Services website.

The updated website features a fresh, user-friendly design and improved navigation to help you find the information you need quickly and easily. Whether you require legal advice or need assistance with contracts and agreements, the website is your go-to resource. We encourage you to bookmark the page for future reference and explore the various sections to familiarise yourself with the available resources.

Overview of the main features:

• Services: Gain insight into the range of legal services available.
• Contract processes: Explore the process flow charts providing step by step guidance on processes to follow for all contracts/agreements.
• Templates: Access UNE template agreements and contracts.
• Legal advice: Find information about obtaining legal advice, including turnaround times.
• Legal professional privilege: Find out what this means and how to avoid waiving it.
• Subpoenas and requests for information: See what you need to do if you receive a subpoena or request for information.

NEW CONTRACT APPROVAL FORM

 Legal Services has also developed a new Contract Approval Form (CAF) in consultation with a number of our clients in the UNE community. The CAF is a one-stop form available on the template page of our website and:

• Replaces the two Request for Legal Assistance (RLA) forms, the GIPA form and the delegate contract signing memo
• Records relevant procurement and governance approvals and risk assessments
• Ensures delegates will be provided with the information they need to make an informed decision
• Is designed to reduce back-and-forth emails currently required to get a contract approved for signing and associated extended timeframes

The CAF can be used now. There will be a two week grace period for RLAs already in progress. RLAs will not be accepted after 31 August 2023.
