Prospective students and current students now experience a greatly improved web experience when they apply for Advanced Standing at UNE.
The DUX (Digital User Experience) Advanced Standing Project went live on Tuesday morning with enhancements to the Advanced Standing application form and SRM workflow. New purpose-built workspaces for academic and professional staff who process and assess Advanced Standing applications have also been launched, together with new and improved operational and strategic reports to improve visibility and processing times of applications across the entire process.
This new solution delivers an improved unit level credit applicant user experience and improved admission outcomes.
What has changed?
- The application form has been redesigned and applicants now have the ability to save an application and return to it when ready to complete it.
- Prefilled data to save the applicant having to type it in.
- Reminders to applicants, to return to their incomplete application.
- Guided assistance and tooltips to help the applicant understand what is required
- Improved quality of applications submitted, more complete applications submitted and only one application per applicant in an intake period
- Improved staff user experience through well-designed, intuitive, streamlined workspaces with most required information in or a click away from the workspace.
- Reduced manual effort (automated reminders are sent to applicants reducing the need for any manual follow-up)
- CAM staff will no longer be required to attach a transcript to the application before they forward it to an academic (as transcript information is already included in the workspace)
- Improved drop-down menus to reduce the length of time spent recording unit credit decisions
- Improved visibility of where applications are at, so that bottlenecks can be resolved quickly.
- Improved reporting

Triaging issues as they arise after go-live
- Prospective & current students will raise concerns via the “Contact us” form in Ask UNE (choosing the ‘Advanced Standing’ topic).
- Staff finding system defects, bugs or access issues should route issues to the SRM team email: srm@une.edu.au.
- Academic staff who have queries about School procedures (ie the way the School approaches Advanced Standing) please refer these enquiries to the relevant CAM person as the first point of contact.
- CAM staff, for process issues you cannot answer, reach out to the Advanced Standing Team via email for guidance advanced-standing@une.edu.au (as you do now); for technical issues (something’s broken etc) email srm@une.edu.au. If it is a training issue, please utilise the materials on the DUX website.
