Over the last three years, a volunteer group of UNE staff and students have been building a program of work that culminated in the re-invigoration of the UNE Ally Network in 2022. The Network is committed to building more inclusive LGBTQIA+ spaces for staff and students in both on campus and online environments.

If you are in Armidale on the 23 June, please join us at our stall outside Cafe Life from 12pm to 1.30pm for a rainbow cupcake and a hot drink to celebrate Pride Month and Trimester 2 O-Week!

We are also writing to invite you to take a short survey to gauge your interest in LGBTQIA+ 101 training. The sessions focus on understanding some key ideas and issues affecting LGBTQIA+ communities, as well as thinking about how we can be more supportive allies to each other.

Those of you who have previously completed the 101 training can express an interest to join the Allyship Strategy workshop training.

We are aware that many of you missed the training offered in the last couple of years, so please do take this opportunity to join a session – either in person on the Armidale campus, or via Zoom (all sessions will be hybrid).

If you are interested in either or both training sessions, please register your interest via the survey form

Please let Dr Christina Kenny (and/or other Ally Network representatives; a public member list is available on our web page) know if you have any questions.

If you would like to join the UNE Ally Network, we’d love to have you! Please visit the web page for more information.
