UNE staff have been going pink on Fridays to increase awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for research into this disease.
As they go about their work looking after UNE’s living and learning environments, the Estate & Built Environment team have been sparking conversations and actions through their bright shirts.
“Unfortunately, most of us know friends and family who have had dealings with this terrible disease, which affects both men and women,” Property and Services Coordinator Sandy McDiarmid says.
“Early detection is the best way to survive a diagnosis, so it’s important to spread the word about early detection and check-ups.
“Thank you also to those who have kindly donated towards the pink shirt breast cancer awareness campaign.”
If you’re on campus and would like to donate, swing by EBE reception (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) or keep an eye out for mailman Pete who will be collecting on his rounds!
