Dr Kashmira Dave is researching the of inclusion and impact of biases in academic appointments. Her research will provide insight into whether the cultural, racial and gender identity of the candidate and biases of the members of selection panels towards them influence the selection process for academic recruitment in Australian universities, and thus demonstrate the aim of cultural diversity and inclusivity among academic staff and students.

At the end of the survey, you will be invited to take part in a one-to-one interview. The interview should take approximately 30 – 45 minutes to complete. The interview format is semi-structured and includes guiding questions followed by some prompting questions. Dr Dave may also ask questions seeking clarification and expansion on your views. This interview will be audio recorded and although participants may be quoted (permission will be obtained to do this), under no circumstance will they be identified by name. A generic description (e.g., ‘a staff member’) or pseudonym will be used. An Information Sheet for Participants (ISP) giving further details is included with the survey link
