The UNE-GRS was established to provide a supportive, inclusive, collaborative environment that develops the skills and expertise of our talented Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates and their supervisors. The GRS was initiated in early 2022 and is now fully functional, providing a centralised service at UNE for all matters relating to HDR. The GRS will provide a one-stop-shop for HDR candidates, staff and supervisors to support the highest quality HDR training environment.
It has been a positive start to the GRS journey with the professional team formed from various existing areas of the University with extensive collaboration and consultation with Schools, Faculties and other business units to enhance the HDR candidature experience.
The GRS, led by Prof Brian Wilson (pictured), will be structured around three key pillars – Recruitment (Bethany Ayers), Student Experience (Sophie Sincock) and Training (Chanel Hopkinson) supported by an experienced and committed staff. This is an exciting new initiative at UNE and will provide improved support for HDR candidates and their supervisors.
