The Academic Workload Committee (AWC) thank all academic staff for their valuable input into the academic workload survey, which is now closed.

This evidence of academic activities and timeframes at UNE is a vital addition to the growing evidence base that is the foundation of an operational workload framework due for implementation in 2021.  Responses have provided sufficient data to create statistical, representative samples for the majority of UNE disciplines.

Professor Mike Wilmore, Chair of the AWC, praised the work of all members of the committee for their contributions to the development of the survey, but most especially Dr Elizabeth Temple, who is taking the lead in analysis of the survey data.

“Our completion of the Academic Workload Framework proposal is greatly enhanced by the quality of the evidence from which we work. I’m gratefully that academics across the entire university have provided us with such great feedback on their work via this survey”.

The ongoing feedback and support for your academic workload framework is vital to its iterative development and an operational version that meets the teaching, scholarship, service and research needs of UNE academics.

Your next opportunity to inform the workload development will occur next week when staff consultation commences. All staff will be invited to comment on the proposed framework through a consultation document and dedicated website, a series of forums and focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms. Further information will be forthcoming very soon.
