The Duval Kayaking Club has worked hard throughout the year to prepare for the 111km Hawkesbury Canoe Classic that will be held later this month.

As part of our  preparation, the Club took part in the Myall Classic, a Paddle NSW sponsored event held at Myall Lakes, NSW. We entered 11 boats in the 27km Student Challenge race – 10 doubles and a single. Although we had to battle hard in the wind and faced rough conditions out on the water, our training paid off and all the boats performed exceptionally well.

As Club President, I would like to make a special mention to the land crew who did Duval proud in supporting other racegoers by cheering for them as they crossed the finish line, congratulating them with medals and carrying their kayaks out of the water. The Duval spirit was really evident all throughout this paddle event- everyone was so willing to help and be supportive of one another.

To top it off, we won the Student Challenge Trophy for the highest point score!!

We are now looking forward to tackling the Hawkesbury Classic on 26 & 27 October and a successful conclusion to a great year.
