In 2020 UNE will hold the 5th Postgraduate conference. What started as a good idea is now embedded in research culture at UNE.  Over the past 5 years, we have expanded the conference and now invite contributions from our PhD, Masters, Honours and Post-doctoral Fellows. Supervisors are also invited to present and share their research experience and expertise with attendees. Recognising the vital role of supervisors we ask that they continue to encourage and support their PhD, Master and Honours students to participant in their annual conference.

Acknowledging that research creates knowledge, it follows that research communication creates connections that self-generate new thinking, ideas and actions within and across networks, that is it creates “intersections of knowledge”.  The value of these intersections should not be understated and it is important that they extend more broadly and outside the research community.

This conference is an opportunity to: prepare and present research across the university in a friendly setting; hear how researchers from other disciplines are approaching their research and how research practices are carried out in different contexts.

The conference offers a wide range of Keynote and Special Sessions with the intention of prompting our postgraduate researchers to identify and acknowledge the skills they are acquiring within their studies.  In doing this they can then also explore the range of ongoing career opportunities that their higher degree training provides them.

Interested in attending the conference?  Everyone attending the conference needs to register as soon as possible, including guests who do not wish to present.

Details can be viewed on the Postgrad Conference Webpage at https://www.une.edu.au/research/hdr/postgraduate-conference  or email the committee at unepgconference@une.edu.au or via phone 02 6773 3715.

We look forward to seeing you there.
