UNE’s English Language Centre (ELC) invites you to participate as a guest lecturer to international students. This invitation is extended to lecturers and post-graduate students as well as UNE staff and members of the broader community.
Your lecture can be about something you know very well within your subject area, an extra curricular activity you think may interest the students or about your involvement in the greater Armidale community.
Students often report that having the opportunity to listen to a variety of lecturers provides the experience of different accents and lecturing styles for their future UNE studies.
The ELC lecture group may comprise at least 40 students from various countries which may include China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam, Iraq and the Philippines.
They will enter undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies at UNE in Business/Commerce, Accounting, Nursing, IT and Agriculture; however they are interested in a diverse range of topics, so we welcome lecturers and/or UNE staff from any field to participate.
Lectures are approximately 30 minutes in length with 10-15 minutes question and answer time and contain a minimal number of PowerPoint slides so students can practice their listening and note-taking skills. We can provide any support you need, so all you have to bring is your PowerPoint or similar material on a USB.
In return, we offer you our sincerest thanks and the good feeling you may get from helping these students adjust to University life in their new country.
ELC Term Lectures are timetabled to take place on Thursdays from 1pm to 2pm on the following dates:
- 18th July, 2019
