The Library recently requested your assistance to help name the new Research Repository. I am pleased to announce that the popular vote and winner was “Research UNE (RUNE)”. I would like to thank all those who responded to the survey.  We received many inventive and amusing suggestions including: DOROTHY (Dixson Online Repository), PURSuE (Publication – Une Research SpacE), UNEque, ReHub, RESTORE, and even “Slough of Despond”.

There are some changes you need to be aware of while the work is undertaken to upgrade the Research Repository.  During September 2018, no new records will be placed online in e-publications@UNE, and no changes will be made to existing e-publications@UNE records.

You need to submit records of new Research Outputs by 31st August 2018 or wait until the new system goes live in October 2018. You will still be able to search, view and download existing e-publications@UNE records during September 2018. It is recommended that you link new research outputs to your ORCiD during the September system freeze as this will simplify the process for importing new records into the repository once it is live.

At the completion of the upgrade in late September, e-publications@UNE will have a new name, “Research UNE (RUNE)”, a new look and improved functionality.  We are confident that it will be well worth the wait! More details are provided in the attached flyer.

Over the next couple of months the Library will be offering information sessions and demonstrations of the new system. A suite of support resources will also be developed and made available to researchers.

For any further enquiries regarding this upgrade, please email libcomms@une.edu.au.
