UNE’s historic Boilerhouse is being redeveloped as a children’s discovery space which aims to promote learning through play.
The competition was designed to capture various interpretation of this iconic structure before its redevelopment. The UNE Discovery Program team, led by Dr Kirsti Abbott, received 46 entries, which are on display in Dixson Library until 31 October 2018.
“We have some very talented community members and we are pleased with the level of interest and number of entries received in the art competition. We are delighted with the winner choices and hope that the community will come and visit the exhibition to see these tremendous artworks,” Kirsti said.
The next step in this ambitious project is community consultation. The team wants to learn more about our favourite play spaces and what is missing in our region. Have your say here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NQTVQQL
