UNE staff member Jessica Fitzgerald is taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. She’ll have her hair shaved in front of Dixson Library on Wednesday, 14 March and is asking for your support to help raise funds for Aussie families impacted by blood cancer.
Blood cancer affects an estimated 12,000 Australian annually and claims more lives than breast cancer or melanoma – 35 people per day receive the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or another kind of blood disorder.
The money raised will go towards the extensive emotional and practical support required by these families. By sponsoring as little $53 you will ensure someone being treated in hospital gets a personal visit from a highly-trained health professional and so receive the extra support they need.
