UNE Library’s Research Assistance and Engagement Services (RAES) will be holding a series of workshops covering a variety of topics across the research lifecycle.
These include helping you to select publishers, measure your impact and engagement, disseminate your work online, and manage your research data.
The workshops will be running from November 16 to December 14 and held each Thursday, 2-3pm in The Dixson Library Training Lab. Post-graduate students, researchers, and academics from across all schools are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Strategic publishing
Thursday 16 November 2017, 2:00-3:00pm, Dixson Library Training Lab.
Making your research impactful, engaging, and visible is greatly assisted by the choices you make for publishing.

Writing and maintaining a research data management plan
Thursday 7 December 2-3pm, Dixson Library Training Lab.
Funding bodies, ethics clearance, and UNE University policy all feature requirements that are facilitated by creating a Research Data Management Plan (DMP). A DMP is a living document that assists researchers in considering and documenting decisions for the type and scale of the data your will produce, the associated storage and preservation necessities, the sensitivity issues, and the administrative controls of ownership of and access to research data. A complete and up to date DMP will assist research projects in communicating research data decisions to collaborators, funders, and publishers throughout the life of a research project. The Dixson Library will provide guidance on what research data management plans are, how to set one up, and how to maintain one.

Managing online profiles
Thursday 14 December 2017, 2:00-3:00pm, Dixson Library Training Lab
A broad set of online profile tools are available to researchers, but using them in a consistent and effective manner can seem like a steep learning curve. Mastering the basics of research profile tools can have a significant positive outcome for your research career. The Dixson Library will take a look at a variety of online author profile apps that help researchers disseminate and discuss their work, communicate with the wider research community, and find potential collaboration partners.
