The Vice-Chancellor’s Community Open Day was a roaring success, with around 1300 community members of all ages streaming through the UNE Natural History Museum.
Visitors were wowed by the displays, talks and demonstrations, while almost $630 was raised for Mary White College’s ‘Dry July’ fundraiser for cancer sufferers.
The response delighted Vice-Chancellor, Professor Annabelle Duncan, who said the Open Day is held to show that the university is part of the New England community, not separate from it. And she emphasised that the Natural History Museum is open on weekdays from 9am-5pm, and Café 77 is open weekdays from 10am-2pm.
