UNE Associate Professor Sue Wilson and Dr Matt Tighe have presented their research, which examines mining-derived antimony and arsenic pollution in the Macleay River Catchment, at an international conference in Zurich.
The pair lead the Pollution Science Research Group at UNE and their research is helping to focus pollution management and underpin guidelines worldwide.
UNE is a sponsor of the conference symposium “Antimony in the Environment: Current Research and Future Perspectives”, where they presented their findings.
A/Prof Wilson is part of the organising committee and also chaired the meeting at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, which was attended by over 100 delegates from around the world, including keynote speakers from China and Canada.
