South Korea’s Chungnam National University, in Daejeon, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of New England to collaborate in academic exchanges and building cultural ties.

The document was formalised at Booloominbah by Chungnam’s Vice President for International Affairs, Professor Jun Heon Lee, and UNE Vice-Chancellor Professor Annabelle Duncan.

Although there is strong initial interest in collaborating on livestock genetics, the MOU is not limited to this field.

It opens up potential for academic and student exchanges, and a cultural exchange program, with the door left open for a Twinning Program on degrees at a later date.
