Call for grant applications for the Robine Enid Wilson Small Grants Scheme
Purpose: For the furtherance of teaching and research into the forest ecosystem, its management and preservation
Funding categories: A total of approximately $60,000 is available in 2017.
There are three activities supported by the scheme:
(1) Research Grants (Large up to $20,000, Small up to $10,000);
(2) UNE Student Support (HDR, Honours, Research project in a coursework Masters up to $2,000; Undergraduate $500) and
(3) Community Engagement and Outreach $2,000.
It is anticipated that there will be one Large grant, one Small grant, one Outreach grant and $28,000 in student support in 2017. An applicant can only be on one application. Students should seek project approval from a supervisor and name them on the application (the named supervisor is not considered an applicant). The Committee reserves the right to not award funds in any particular round if applications are not of sufficient merit.
Eligibility: Applications are open to UNE staff (continuing or fixed term) and students (currently enrolled) of the University of New England – to undertake work on the ecology of any forest ecosystem in the World.
Procedure: Download the package from the UNE Research Services website. Address the Selection Criteria, place your name and page numbering in a header and compile into a single pdf document. Email to ers@une.edu.au with the subject line “Robine Enid Wilson Trust application”
Deadline: 5 pm, 31 March 2017. Applications should be emailed to ers@une.edu.au not later than the closing date and time. Late applications will not be accepted.
Committee: The Robine Enid Wilson Trust Grant Scheme is chaired by Professor Caroline Gross and the Committee (with representatives from a variety of Schools and Research Services) will meet in April 2017, with successful applicants notified by the ERS School Office.
