Commencement ceremony

Yesterday’s Commencement ceremony welcomed and celebrated the new student cohort on campus with both University Leadership and current students on hand to welcome the newcomers.

Commencement numbers for 2017 are looking good and UNE is tracking better than this time last year for both commencing students and international students. We currently have approximately 5,500 commencing students and 580 international students. Our international student numbers from Nepal have increased and the country now has the biggest cohort of students studying at UNE, namely 126. Other countries with significant student numbers include the Philippines, Saudi-Arabia, India and China.

The Vice-Chancellor has emphasised that maintaining these numbers will be a major focus of the university this year.
