Congratulations to UNE postgrad student, Tellisa Kearton (pictured), who was awarded second place in the inaugral Communicate Your Research Project competition at the recent BeefEx 2016.
University students from around Australia were given five minutes to present their research findings followed by two minutes of question time by a panel of judges. Another UNE student, Danila Marini, placed in the top six.
Both students are working on sheep projects so did really well in a beef forum. Tellisa is doing her Masters with UNE and the Sheep CRC while Danila is a joint UNE/CSIRO candidate.
BeefEX is a large, well-attended, industry forum and the new competition is looking at developing research from any livestock field that might have positive implications for the feedlot industry.
