UNE is pleased to announce that 251 students were notified that they had been identified as 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholars last week.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar Program recognises and rewards outstanding academic achievement among our undergraduate students. It is our way of acknowledging both on-campus and off-campus students who have achieved a GPA of 6.7 or above after completing at least four units of study at UNE. The recognition is well deserved as a GPA of 6.7 is hard to achieve and difficult to maintain.
The 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholars will be invited to attend a reception in their honour in November, and their distinction will be noted on their academic transcript. The students’ names will also be placed on an Honour Roll on the VC’s Scholar website. As part of the program, Vice-Chancellor’s Scholars will be able to apply for VC’s Scholar Engagement Awards worth up to $4000, and VC’s Scholar Academic Development Awards valued at up to $1000. Scholars will also be invited to a workshop designed specifically for them.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar Program is now in its fourth year. The numbers of scholars have continued to increase each year from 161 in 2013 to 251 this year. These high-achievers are distributed across all disciplines where a GPA is calculated.
