Joining the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor on the night were representatives from Senior Executive as well as UNE Life – Dave Schmude; BackTrack Armidale – Bernie Shakeshaft and Kevin Dupe; Suzanne Jones of UNE Partnerships and Bob Finch – UNE Council member and local consultant.

Chancellor James Harris and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Annabelle Duncan, thanked the local Armidale community for their continuous support of UNE at a networking event last week.

Both the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor agreed this type of event doesn’t happen often enough and agreed to promote more town and gown networking opportunities in the near future.

In his thank you speech Mr Harris said that the unique perspectives, experience and consistent efforts of everyone present allows UNE to grow and prosper.

Professor Duncan said she is also keen to see Armidale prosper while becoming better known as a university city, and that the ongoing support of all involved is greatly appreciated.

Attendees included UNE Academic Board members, UNE Council, local community and business people who freely provide their time and expertise to various governance roles that support the University.
