Pamela Widders

As Senior HR Consultant Aboriginal Employment, she has three primary focus areas:

  • Identifying, developing and implementing strategies, initiatives and services associated with increasing the employment, retention and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees throughout the University.
  • Ongoing evaluation and reviewing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy: http://www.une.edu.au/staff-current/working/equity/atsi-emplyment/aboriginal-and-torres-strait-islander-employment-strategy.
  • Engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the University and with external groups with a focus on job networks and education providers promoting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy.

For Pamela to achieve this, she would like to establish an effective working relationship with all Schools and Directorates and therefore welcome the opportunity to speak with staff about the Strategy and the benefits of employing Aboriginal people or just to have a chat about any issues/concerns/ideas etc.

Another area  vital to this role is working with Aboriginal staff already employed, to identifying their strengths and weaknesses and encouraging and supporting them with professional development to further enhance their career.

Please feel free to contact Pamela on 6773 5746 or pwidders@une.edu.au.
