Coaching skills are central to the role of any manager, but especially an effective manager. As Coach, managers provide guidance, direction and support to staff to meet organisational objectives and professional and personal needs.
Workforce initiatives including on-the-job coaching have an increased likelihood of effect, almost three times that of workplace training off-the-job.
The development of coaching skills in managers benefits the individual and the organisation, resulting in the improvement of overall people skill and the overall capability of the organisation.
There is a clear link to increased employee engagement and commitment, and improved business outcomes.
