UNE staff are invited to take advantage of the University of New England’s (UNE) institutional membership of the Australian Collaborative Education Network Limited (ACEN) who is the professional association for practitioners and researchers from the higher education sector, industry, community and government representatives, involved in work integrated learning (WIL) in Australia.

As UNE staff, you are able to access register under the UNE’s membership at no cost to yourself or School. Both academic and professional staff are encouraged to register.

As an ACEN Member you will be joining the national leading network for WIL and thereby extending your opportunities to access and be a part of the ongoing development and research in WIL, both at a national and global level. ACEN is a partner of the World Association of Cooperative Education (WACE) and has negotiated an arrangement whereby membership of ACEN automatically provides for concurrent WACE membership.

ACEN membership benefits include:

  • links to all other members of Australia’s premier WIL network
  • invitations to attend regular meetings/forums/symposia held by the five State ACEN branches
  • the opportunity to participate on National and State ACEN executives and committees
  • access to resources related to WIL nationally, and internationally
  • discounted registrations to biannual National ACEN conferences
  • information on, and invitations to participate in, national and international projects related to WIL under the auspices of ACEN
  • the opportunity to participate in inter-university research in collaborative education and be at the forefront of improving/enhancing research in this area

WACE membership benefits include:

  • invitations to participate in WACE programs (World, Regional, & International Conferences and International Symposia) for the member fee
  • quarterly electronic newsletters from WACE
  • the opportunity to contribute articles/information to the WACE electronic newsletter
  • the opportunity to serve on WACE Committees, such as Program Planning Committees and International Review Committees
  • access to the Journal of Cooperative Education & Internships. Each member will receive a username and password shortly after staff register with ACEN.
