A message from ‘waste collection station’ Judy Stott:

Did you know Australia is the second highest producer of waste in the world? We produce around 650 kg per person per year. TerraCycle have now set up in Australia as of February this year. Please check out the link below if you want to read more about this wonderful innovative company, also known as the “Google of garbage” or to see some of the amazing products they make out of our waste:

I’ve just nominated to be a waste collection station for coffee pods after learning how horrendous they are as far as being non-recyclable & ending up as tons of extra material in landfill. I’ve discovered that TerraCycle offers a recycling service, turning waste into green products. They also offer a free postage service & even pay a small donation for each piece of waste to your nominated charity (my charity will be the Armidale Branch of RSPCA).

If you have any of these pods I would be happy to recycle them for you or you may like to become a collection station yourself. There are a number of other products that you can nominate to collect so to get started, click here: http://www.terracycle.com.au/brigades
