Stephen Grono: LYNC: Tricks we’ve found and nifty things
A mixed seminar/workshop for those who want to know a bit more about the phone on their desk, and what else it can do. The new Lync phone system is now completing its rollout across the university for all staff, and brings with it a number of new features. The session will broadly cover some of the main functionality of the system and useful settings available, with a focus on both the physical phone itself and the Mac-specific version of the client available for free for your Mac.
From using your phone as a phone (imagine that!), to switching your ringtone, setting statuses and their meanings, organising contacts and frequently called numbers, making video calls and screen sharing, to a look over some of the privacy and other settings people may be interested in.
