All Welcome
Arammba is one of the over 800 languages spoken in Papua New Guinea. It is an endangered language spoken by approximately 750 people in the southwest of the country, and is a member of the recently discovered Morehead-Maro family of languages, which is very different from the large Trans-New Guinea family. Arammba is characterised by a unique phonology and a very complex verb morphology. This presentation gives an overview of the verb morphology in Arammba. Information on its dialects, its relationship to neighbouring languages, and the language landscape of the region is also discussed.
