#UNELaw was honoured to host members of the Law Society of NSW at the Armidale campus yesterday. The President of the NSW Law Society, Joanne van der Platt, was in attendance alongside several regional Presidents and Law Society staff.

The proceedings started when UNE’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Simon Evans, welcomed our guests. Professor Michael Adams provided an overview of the Law School. The group toured the UNE Law Library, Moot Court and teaching spaces. The group were then taken to the NOVA space in town for a presentation by SRI Director, Dr Lou Conway.

The Law Society President, Joanne van der Platt, is staying in Armidale over the weekend as she is the guest speaker at the UNE LSS’s Law Ball. To learn more about Joanne van der Platt check out her Tune FM Interview.

One of the loveliest aspects of the visit was when past UNE Law students met up with UNE Law staff. For example, Claire Chaffey, Director of Membership and Engagement with the Law Society of NSW, was thrilled to catch up with Associate Professor Cameron Moore. Cameron was Claire’s honour’s supervisor when she was an UNE Law student!!
