UNE Law School’s Associate Professor Dr Cameron Moore recently sat on the Youth National Security Strategy ‘YNSS’ legal debates panel. Students attended from all over Australia to participate in the discussions. They came from a range of academic disciplines including law, security studies, international relations, as well as other disciplines. The YNSS program aims to empower young thinkers who are future policy leaders of our country to redefine security through innovative ideas on energy, diplomacy, technology and more. Dr Cameron Moore discussed a range of exciting but challenging topics such as human rights; federalism; the value of scrutiny and debate; the role of the government; and, the nature of unforeseen events. Attendees were inspired by Cameron’s insightful comments and wealth of knowledge, particularly regarding the issues of human rights and international law in national security.
