DigEd is starting 2023 off with a bang in the eAssessment space – as well as leading the national professional body for examinations, we will soon be showcasing our sector-leading practice on the international stage.
ProctorU – our online supervision partner – has invited Sebastian Hesselmans-Dirven from the Exams & eAssessment Team to the USA to co-present at the global ATP Innovations in Testing conference in Texas in March. This is an international conference on innovation in assessment practice, and Sebastian has been invited to present on UNE’s first-in-world implementation of the Guardian Secure Browser – a new tool developed by ProctorU to improve student experience and assessment integrity.
The presentation will focus on ProctorU’s collaboration with UNE to develop and test the new browser – supplier supported innovation is a practice encouraged by UNE’s procurement procedures, and one that DigEd actively pursues with our partners. When technical changes in the browser market necessitated changes to ProctorU’s existing tools, UNE was able to collaborate on the development of a specialised browser that will deliver a more secure, robust assessment experience, working with the development team throughout the build and testing phases. We are now the first institution in the world to roll out the completed product, and Sebastian’s presentation will showcase our leadership and expertise with the global eAssessment community.
The conference also represents an opportunity for UNE to continue to draw on the cutting edge of assessment and online examination practice from around the world, with the program covering a diverse range of topics such as AI, accessibility, assessment design and administration approaches.
Congratulations to Sebastian and the Exams & eAssessment Team on this excellent achievement!
