After a slight delay to plans communicated earlier in the year, we are now preparing to archive older myLearn sites. Unit sites for 2021 T3 or earlier will be archived soon.
During the archiving process, a backup of the complete unit is taken and stored on UNE systems. We will then delete all the student data from a site but retain the unit shell with the unit information (unit overview, materials, assessment information etc).
At the point of archiving, the sites will no longer be listed for you as active units.
Starting with 2017 units in the next few weeks, we will progressively work through the process over the next couple of months.
Why?
Our myLearn system is hosted on a high-end server with our vendor partner OpenLMS. There is a significant financial as well as performance cost to keep old sites active on this system.
What you need to do?
You don’t need to do anything other than be aware that these sites will be removed from myLearn and your units list.
Should you in the future need access to unit content (excluding student data) at some point in the future, please contact mylearn-support@une.edu.au to request access.
If access to student data from an archived unit is required at some future point, please also request this via mylearn-support@une.edu.au . Please be aware that restoring student data from a backup copy will take a little time to process.
