New Academic Integrity Module for T1
For T1/2025 UNE launched a revised version of the compulsory Academic Integrity Module (AIM) that has been updated throughout to include information on GenAI and academic integrity. It follows the same format as the previous AIM of learning modules (developed by Epigeum, an external partner) and quizzes to check the understanding of the material.
On completion of the quizzes, students will be awarded a (new) AIM badge in myLearn. This badge will give students access to their assessment information in their units.
The number of modules has been reduced from 5 to 4, and the quizzes are now slightly shorter with 15 questions each (was 20).
When will the new AIM be launched?
The new AIM was released to students last week to give new students (starting in T1) access to the revised content as soon as possible.
Will existing students have to re-do the new AIM?
Yes, we will be asking all students to re-do the AIM to ensure they are familiar with the GenAI updates.
However, the previous AIM badge will remain valid for a transition period throughout Trimester 1. We will communicate to students who have completed the old AIM in the past that they will have to re-do the AIM quizzes before Trimester 2/2025 to remain current. This can be done at any point during the first half of 2025. We will communicate this change to students throughout Trimester 1.
Please note that the AIM will set a baseline of knowledge for students around Generative AI and other academic integrity issues. Any specific information about the permitted use of GenAI in individual units or assessments should be shared with students in the assessment information in myLearn.
