Exciting news! A new feature has been activated in H5P that allows staff to integrate content from their EchoVideo library into interactive videos. This enhancement opens up new opportunities for engaging students while leveraging the rich video resources in EchoVideo.
What is Interactive Video?
Interactive Videos in H5P are dynamic learning tools that combine multimedia elements with embedded questions. They engage students by allowing them to interact with content and test their understanding in real-time. This format supports active learning and can be used for formative assessment, comprehension checks, and more.
EchoVideo and H5P Integration
With this new feature, you can now seamlessly embed EchoVideo content into an H5P interactive Video activity. This means you can add questions at key points within a video, turning passive viewing into an interactive learning experience.
How to Embed EchoVideo into H5P?
- Access Your EchoVideo Library: Log in to your EchoVideo account and locate the video you want to embed.
- Copy the Embed Code: Click on share, then select H5P links, then select Create link to generate the embed code for your selected video.
- Add to H5P Interactive Quiz: In your H5P editor, select the interactive video content type. Paste the embed code into the appropriate field.
- Design Your Questions: Create questions that align with your video content. These can be multiple-choice, true/false, or short-answer questions.
- Save and Publish: Save your interactive Video and embed it into your MyLearn unit.
Analytics Stay with the Video
A key benefit of this integration is that analytics for the EchoVideo content remain intact. This means you can still track student engagement and viewership statistics while adding interactivity through H5P.
How to Embed into MyLearn
Once your interactive Video is complete, you can easily embed it into your MyLearn unit:
- Go to your unit in MyLearn.
- Select the section/tile where you want the Interactive Video to appear.
- Use the “Add Activity or Resource” option and select the H5P content type.
