We are asked to perform in front of a webcam for Zoom meetings and presentation recordings.
This video walks through the four things to consider when recording or zooming you and your presentation:
- Clear sound is achieved by maximising your voice while minimising noise. If using an internal computer mic be close to it, or better still acquiring a headset will get a better result.
- You will need to be well lit. Generally having more lights on is best, people watching your video want to see you.
- Placing your face at the top of the screen so people can see more of you and less of the room while looking at the webcam to engage audience.
- If you use a presentation — the biggest mistake is adding too much content on one slide, especially text.
Choose a screen recording tool that suits your needs. Some University of New England (UNE) options include EchoVideo, Zoom, for power users or perfectionists Camtasia (limited UNE licences — need to request), or even built-in options like QuickTime Player on Mac or Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10 and later.
