The Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015 results have been released and UNE’s overall research standing has increased significantly since the last assessment in 2012. Our research seeks excellence in delivering innovative solutions to challenges facing society and industry, and the ERA outcome demonstrates this commitment. These latest results indicate that UNE has achieved the highest rating of 5* (“well above world standard”) in nine fields, which included Soil Sciences, Ecology and Agriculture, Land and Farm Management.

It’s good to know that many of the UNE researchers involved in this process have links through the Cotton Hub at UNE to the Australian cotton industry. This news was made extra special for the AGSS staff as it came a day before  World’s Soil day, on the 5th of December, which was celebrated with a ‘soil’ themed  morning tea.
