Last night, the UNE Business School held the annual CPA Awards in the JP Belshaw Lecture Theatre, celebrating the achievements of students studying Accounting units across a talented undergraduate cohort.

Sponsored by CPA Australia, the awards drew 23 students, along with family and friends, for a special event recognising their hard work and achievement in undergraduate units that make up part of the CPA accredited courses. Awards were presented to students finished in the top 5% of their units with a distinction grade or above. Overall, 169 merits were awarded – on line students will receive their certificates by post over the next week.

The event was an opportunity to celebrate student achievement, and the evening also included an address from Anthony Matis FCPA from CPA Australia, sharing his thoughts on the importance of networking with impact, as well as personal brand.

Local Accounting firms were well represented, with members from Roberts & Morrow, Crowe Horwath, Forsyths and Boyce Chartered Accountants joining students after the ceremony for a fantastic networking event.

The hard work from UNE Business School staff was acknowledged – with special mention to Dr Leopold Bayerlein from the Accounting discipline as well as Ms Rachel Cameron who organised the festivities. The evening celebrated the great achievement of our students, both present and online, and UNE Business School offers a warm congratulations to all.
