In mid-August, the Faculty session of the 3 Minute Thesis Competition was held. The UNE Business School had a strong presence in the session, with nine PhD students competing. Well done to Rayed Alobaid, Muteb Almihbash, Yue (Nikki) Zhang, Isaac Koomson, Mirza Moyen, Franklin Soriano, Abdulaziz Alghamdi, Abdulaziz Basahel and Matthew Wysel for participating in this fast-paced competition! Summarising an entire thesis in only three minutes is a fantastic skill.

After votes were tallied, the top three thesis presentations were:
1. Matthew Wysel – Maximising the Economic Value of Data Sharing Platforms
2. Nikki Zhang – The value of information in red meat supply chains
3. Muteb Almihbash – Agency Costs, Ownership Structure and Dividend Policy in Saudi Listed Firms: A Simultaneous Equations Approach

Matthew then competed in the next UNE-wide round however unfortunately didn’t proceed to the next level despite a great presentation, which you can view here.

Congratulations to all of our competitors!
