On Wednesday March 1st at a ceremony in the Armidale Town Hall, more than 130 new UNE international students were officially welcomed to the city by the Armidale Regional Council.

The new students heard speeches by the Council Administrator Dr Ian Tiley, UNE Chief Operating Officer Prof. Peter Creamer, and then had their photos taken on stage in their country groups with Dr Tiley. Current UNE PhD student Mr Rinchen Dorji from Bhutan also made a speech welcoming the students and offered advice on the various challenges facing international students. Each student that attended was presented with an honorary citizenship to the local government area of Armidale Regional Council.
