Welcome to Trimester 3! Teaching begins today so it’s time to double check your enrolment is correct and log in to myLearn to start working through your unit content and marking down any important dates. 

We’ve compiled a list of Essential Dates for Trimester 3 to save in your calendar;

  • Start of teaching: today! Monday 20th October (Week 1)
  • Last day to enrol/add units: Monday 27th October (Week 2)
  • Exam timetable release: Friday 7th November 
  • IT Maintenance DaySaturday 15th November
  • Census Date: Monday 17th November (Week 5) – This is also the last date to defer if it’s your first trimester and you’re not quite ready to begin your study journey
  • Intensive School & Assessment period: 1st to 5th December
  • Last day to withdraw without academic penalty: Monday 1st December
  • IT Maintenance Day: Saturday 20th December
  • IT Maintenance Weekend: Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th January, 2026
  • Assessment & Intensive period 2 (Exams): 27th January to 2nd February, 2026
  • T3 Results Released: Friday 13th February, 2026

Once you’ve set reminders for these dates, it’s time to get stuck in. If you’re a new student, whether online or on campus, make sure you’ve worked through your UNE101 myLearn unit and get familiar with the Library, Academic Skills Office, IT Support available and more. 

The Academic Skills Office is running a series of Study Smart Sessions to develop and refresh your study skills. Topics include time management, ethical and effective use of AI, referencing, assignment writing, statistics, presentations and exam preparation. If you have a local university library, you can check out how to borrow from them at www.une.edu.au/library/borrowing/interlibrary-loans. You can also score some free wifi, on any participating campus, using eduroam. Have a look to see whether you’re near any of our UNE Study Centres, or CUC Study Centres for great study facilities and a space to meet other students. 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, if you need tutoring you can apply for the Targeted Tutorial Assistance program. You can also talk to Oorala Aboriginal Centre all manner of topics including what scholarships are available to you.
