Applications are now open for the Australian War Memorial’s Summer Vacation Scholarship Scheme and close at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday 23 October 2020.
The Australian War Memorial provides Summer Vacation Scholarships for history students in their third or fourth year of an undergraduate course, undertaking early-stage postgraduate studies, and/or enrolled in museum or public history courses.
This is an exciting opportunity for students hoping to make history their career. Scholars acquire skills in public history by working with staff in the Memorial’s Military History Section. They learn about the range and significance of the Memorial’s collections, and gain an understanding of a historian’s work in a major cultural institution.
The scholarship period will begin on 18 January and end on 26 February 2021.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, some changes to the 2021 Scholarship Scheme have been implemented. The Australian War Memorial is committed to running the Summer Vacation Scholarship Scheme in 2021, providing a COVID-safe environment for visitors and staff.
