Did you know that 6.8 million Australian’s regularly gamble?
5-12% of the Australian population are estimated to experience gambling related harm each year.

By looking at these statistics, we know that it is likely that some of our students gamble regularly and could be exposed to harm due to gambling.

The NSW Government Office of Responsible Gambling has started the Bettiquette campaign, to raise awareness about the risks of gambling and give some tips and tricks to prevent problematic gambling. The aim is to encourage people who are betting to remain in control of their behaviors and impulses when better on sports and racing events and encourage responsible decision making when gambling.

If you have gambled recently or have concerns for a friend or family member, we invite you to have a look at the Bettiquette resources, including a quiz (assess your risks and current behaviours), calculator (calculating the impact of gambling on your lifestyle), counselling and a guide for family and friends.
