Welcome to Week Two. Hopefully you are starting to settle into a routine.
Monday 11 March (today) is the last day to add Year-long 1, Year-long Honours 1 or Trimester 1 units to an existing enrolment. If you need help with that, make sure you call Student Central on 1800 560 677.
We suggest getting into the habit of spending 12 – 15 hours per week of study on each of your Units. If you’re not sure how much time you have available to study, checkout our Time Management Tool.
The University contacts you about all manner of things via email exclusively, so make sure you check your UNE email account 2-3 times a week, or forward it to another account you check daily. Always use your UNE email account for correspondence with the uni. You may not get a response if you use your private email.
If you have Intensive Schools coming up, it’s never too early to start getting things organised (such as travel and accommodation)
Remember, if you haven’t done so already, you need to complete Online Orientation in Moodle. When you login, you will see a link to the ‘Student Success Program (Online Orientation)’ on your dashboard.
This program takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete You can complete it at your own pace at a time that suits you, but keep in mind that your lecturers will expect you to have completed this program and it contains compulsory components (including the Academic Integrity Module).
Just a heads up. There’s a full day IT outage on Sat 16 March. For tips on how to survive an IT outage, check out this post on the Insider’s Guide.
Hey people, Thanks for the tips. Have dived in head first at the deep end of this Archaeology. Am a bit unsure of this “on-line” study gig but guess it will soon become as familiar and as rewarding as doing study on campus. Cheers, Patty Lee
