Orientation at UNE is delivered in different ways depending on your mode of study (on-campus or online).

All students (regardless of study mode) should complete Online Orientation (please check your UNE email account for details); on-campus students are also required to attend orientation programs at the Armidale campus.

Orientation is important and it is designed to help you make a successful transition into study.

Your student advisor

If you are a commencing student enrolling in trimester 1, 2019, and you haven’t had a call already, you will soon receive a call from one of our student advisors. Your student advisor will ask how you are going with your preparation for university study, answer any questions you might have, and provide some tips for your transition into university.

Residential Wellness Week

Students staying in the UNE Residences will need to attend Wellness Week in 2019. Wellness week will be from Sunday 17 – 24 February and is the first week in the UNE 2019 Orientation program. This week is designed to ease the transition into university life for 1st year residential college students, many of whom are leaving home for the first time and may be travelling from other regional, interstate or even overseas destinations. The program will help connect you to all the support services available at UNE and in Armidale for this new chapter of your life. You can find found out more about wellness week by clicking on this link.

On Campus Orientation

On Campus Orientation will commence on Sunday 24 February 2019 with an event for on-campus students not living in the residential colleges (“Townies”) and International students.

The program for all Students commences on Monday 25 February with the Commencement Ceremony and Toolkit information session. Townie students can collect their academic gowns from 9am with all students to be seated in Lazenby Hall by 9.45am.

Our student Lifesaver Day, which features stalls from clubs, societies, support services and local businesses, as well as entertainment, a free BBQ, games and prizes, is on Tuesday 26 February.

The new conference-style academic program will be held on Wednesday and Thursday 27 and 28 February.
