THEATRE: THEA333 Performances this week!
Theatre Studies at UNE is thrilled to announce our ever popular THEA333 directing shows are coming to the A1 Theatre on Wednesday 26 and Friday 28 September. Don’t miss them!
This year’s season is titled ‘Make BeLIEve Love’ and it opens on Wednesday 26 September with Cal Hunter’s exciting version of the children’s classic Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, followed by the delightfully quirky, Brisbane love story Boy, Girl, Wall directed by Lachlan Fardy.
The shows on Friday 28 September take a more adult turn, opening with Edward Goodman’s Eugenically Speaking, a witty take on gender and class in the form of a period rom-com, directed by Rose Roberts. Dan Taylor’s directorial offering is from that great Australian thriller Speaking in Tongues by Andrew Bovell, and the evening wraps up with Mark Ravenhill’s controversial, genre-defining Shopping and F***king, directed by Tyrone Cross. As you might guess, the Friday performances include adult themes and some strong language. While we’d love you to bring your kids to Wednesday’s show, Friday night is adults only.
Both evenings start at 5.15 sharp in the A1 Theatre at UNE and admission is $5. It’s the best value in town, and the work of our young directors is not to be missed. We’d love to see you there!
