Highway to Well – Mental Health First Aid Courses: the 26 May workshop has been rescheduled for 16 June

Published On May 4, 2018 | By Luke | Opportunities and Events

UNE, in collaboration with Highway to Well and Hunter New England Local Health District, are pleased to promote the opportunity for students to be trained in Mental Health First Aid for Tertiary Students, with enrolment in the e-learning component of this course currently FREE for first year students in selected health courses. A great opportunity to build skills relevant to both your personal and work life. Attendance will also be recognised for the New England Award.

The majority of Australian University students are young people, and at least 1 in 4 of these young people will experience mental ill-health in any one year. When young people are going through a difficult time, it’s often friends who notice first or who they confide in for support. It’s important to have the skills and confidence to help.

The next workshop will take place in Armidale 16 June 2018

For further details and to register in the  face to face components of this course, please contact Sarah Green on 0438296015 or at  sarah.green@highwaytowell.com.au.

Students in other parts of Australia can find an approved MHFA instructor for the face to face component via the list of instructors at this link https://mhfa.com.au/courses/public/types/blendedtertiary
