Postdoctoral fellowships: support for early career researchers at UNE; apply now
The 2019 UNE Postdoctoral Research Fellowships scheme is a targeted round to address two priorities:
Firstly, for nominees working alongside UNE ARC Discovery Chief Investigators, with UNE as the administering organisation, and
Secondly, nominees who will assist to advance a strong UNE research team to become an outstanding research team.
UNE- Postdoctoral Research Fellowship candidates cannot directly apply to this scheme. Applications must be submitted by the UNE nominating supervisor.
a) A research doctoral degree (equivalent to an Australian PhD degree) awarded on or after 1 January 2014, or commensurate with a period of significant career interruptions, on or after 1 January 2012.
b) Research doctoral degree candidates whose thesis is under examination are eligible provided that their thesis will be submitted by 31 December 2017
c) Research doctoral degree candidates who are to be examined by oral defence by no later than May 2018 and would therefore be awarded their PhD shortly after the event, may be eligible to apply – permission must be granted by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).
Funding for projects will commence at Level A, base +5 at a rate of $82,738 per annum (as at 1 July 2017) and increment through base +6 in the second year, and base +7 in the third year.
The UNE also provides 17% employer superannuation.
