Course:   Thesis Writing using Word 2016

This course is designed to provide formatting information and skills to staff preparing to write a complex word document such as a Thesis.  The session will familiarise you with the Word 2016 tools for citing sources and creating a bibliography, including the referencing tab that can quickly create a table of contents, figures and tables as well as adding citations .  This course will guide you through how to set up your styles, headers and footers and how to create landscape pages correctly. Referencing styles are now included which will automatically format citations and references to the required style ie APA.  The new manage sources option makes it easy to add citations to documents and create a bibliography.

Course Duration:    8 hours

Date(s):    Thursday, 2 November 2017 –  9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

                      Friday3 November 2017 –    9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

 

Location:   ITD Training Room,  2nd Floor ITD building C34

The course is conducted over two mornings from 9am to 1pm and to successfully complete the course you must attend both sessions.  If you can not attend both mornings you could register for the courses held on Wednesday,  22 November and  Thursday,  23 November

The Prerequisite for this course is that you all must have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word. 

This course is not recommended for beginners or anyone new to computing.

You will be provided with all of the course materials on the day, but you will need to bring your own USB data stick to take exercises home with you.
