Recently a number of students were invited to sit their Trimester 2 exam online, supervised in real time, by a real person via a web cam, and in the comfort of their own home.

The added bonus is, they could also choose their preferred start time so they could sit the exam when it suited them.  Of course, all the integrity considerations were in place but the exams team also hope to provide a whole new dimension of flexibility for students.

72 students sat their supervised exams online during the first week of the exam period.  The feedback has been very positive and the exams unit is looking at ways it can expand this offering for more units in future.

They are also after your thoughts on the issue and are offering you the chance to win  a $50.00 iTunes voucher for answering one simple question online:

Would you be interested in sitting your supervised exams online in future?

If you want to give us your view, go to and answer yes or no.  If you want to be in the draw for the iTunes voucher, don’t forget to leave your UNE email address.

The survey has been extended 16 October and we will announce the winner of the iTunes voucher on 23 October.
